About our grants:

We proudly provide financial assistance to women/men who have or who are currently receiving treatment for a breast cancer diagnosis.  As breast cancer survivors, Pink Warrior Angels understands the financial burden that comes along with a breast cancer diagnosis.  Since 2015, we have awarded over $100,000 to our recipients.

Am I eligible to apply? You are eligible to apply if you are a legal U.S. resident and reside in the state of Texas, are a breast cancer survivor, and meet the following criteria:

  • In active treatment for a breast cancer diagnosis (i.e. chemotherapy, radiation, or pending breast surgery)
  • In remission or on long-term hormonal therapy (such as Tamoxifen for breast cancer survivors) or long-term targeted therapy (such as Gleevec or Herceptin)

If you meet these criteria at the time when the application is submitted, you are eligible to apply. (Please note: if you were awarded a grant in the previous 12 months, you must wait until one completed year to reapply.)

What is Pink Warrior Angels looking for in an applicant?

In addition to the eligibility requirements stated above, the best candidates for funding from Pink Warrior Angels can make a clear and direct connection between their current financial difficulties and their experience with cancer.

Good candidates for a grant:

  • Can articulate how their cancer experience has impacted their current financial situation
  • Have immediate financial needs that are not being covered by a spouse/domestic partner or a parent/ other family members.
  • Are not able to get financial assistance from any other source.
  • Are struggling financially as a result of their cancer treatment (e.g., lost wages, high medical bills, etc.) or its aftermath (e.g., limited ability to work, side effects from treatment, etc.)
  • Are limited in their employment options, have lost their jobs, or have sustained a major loss in wages due to their cancer experience

How Do I Apply?

If this is your first time applying, you will need to create a warrior account by visiting and clicking on the warrior tab in the top right-hand corner. Click on Warrior Apply Button at the bottom of the page.  Once we receive this information, you will be contacted directly with a formal financial assistance application. You will be asked to answer questions about your cancer experience, current financial situation and your grant requests. There are a few short essay questions as well. A committee will review all applications and you will be notified via phone and email within 4-6 weeks about the status of your application. Grant amounts vary based on monthly requests and geographic location.



What Do I Need to Apply?

The application will ask for the following information:

  • Basic personal and contact information
  • Information about your cancer diagnosis and treatment
  • Your current financial picture including monthly income, monthly expenses, assets you may own, and liabilities/debts you owe
  • The completion of a Medical History Verification Form, signed by a licensed medical professional with whom you have a relationship (e.g., oncologist, primary care physician, nurse practitioner)
  • The completion of a Medical Records Release form signed only by you
  • 2 months most recent paystubs
  • Copies of the bills you are requesting assistance for.

* The Pink Warrior Angels does not fund business-related requests, credit card repayment requests, payments to friends or family members, weddings, vacations, or requests for help purchasing a car. (While applicants can request assistance with auto repair, auto insurance, or funding for public transportation, we do not provide grants for the purchase of vehicles.)

You will be notified via phone and/or email within 4-6 weeks after you have submitted an application.
