Pink Warrior Angels to host luau fundraiser

The Pink Warrior Angels will be hosting a luau at 6 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Civic Center, 1206 W. Avenue B.

Marily Considine of Copperas Cove has battled cancer for almost eight years.

Residents gathered March 9 at Raising Cane’s in Cove for a check presentation to help Considine, who has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, with some of the expenses of her ongoing illness.

Pink Warrior Angels held a luau to raise funds and to honor local cancer survivors at the Coppera Cove Civic Center on Saturday evening.

 

On February 3 the Pink Warrior Angels host their first fundraiser for the year, a Luau, with all proceeds going to the support charity.

The Pink Warrior Angels will be hosting a traditional luau at 6 p.m. on Feb. 3 in Copperas Cove.

The event at 1206 W. Ave. B, Copperas Cove is being held to raise funds for the Pink Warrior Angels organization, which helps to offset costs for those affected by breast cancer.

A national nonprofit is looking to provide help and support for those affected by breast cancer.

Pink Warrior Angels is a 501 c3 non profit organization founded by breast cancer survivors Julie Moser and Jennifer Reynolds, both diagnosed under the age of 40. The two met while they were both battling cancer.

Several events in Copperas Cove were canceled due to rain Saturday, but after rain had already postponed the Pink Warrior Dash 5k Fun/Run Walk by two weeks, the sun peeked out long enough for the event to kick off at South Park with about 100 runners, walker and vendors taking advantage of the lull in the weather to help raise money for local families with a member undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Julie Moser is no stranger to the uncertainties of cancer. A survivor of breast cancer, she experienced the times of wondering whether something that was occurring to her body was “normal,” most often during the difficult times following chemotherapy.
